We start our tour walking by the Piazza della Repubblica, heart of the 19th century modernization of Florence, where the Roman Forum of the old city once was. We will then move on to one of the most beautiful squares in the world, Piazza del Duomo, where we will visit the Cathedral, with the graceful Gothic bell-tower, and share facts about the Romanesque baptistery with its beautiful gilded bronze doors. Next stop will be the Accademia Museum, home of Michelangelo's David. You’ll skip the line of tourists to see one of the most beautiful masterpieces of the Renaissance, and you’ll have more time to enjoy the amazing artwork. Our last stop is the charming neighborhood of the Piazza della Signoria. You’ll see the Palazzo Vecchio, home of the Republic and, later on, of the Medicis, and check out its courtyard with frescoes. The city is so rich in history, the quality of its artists and craftsmen is so superlative, and there are so many delights to discover that you will be left wanting always more – all this in one half-day tour. What makes The Heart of Florence Tour special: You’ll be immersed in the wonderful era of the Italian Renaissance as you walk the cobblestone streets. Our expert guide will take you back in time and help you imagine the intense life of traders and artisans and the hectic life of the artists who lived there, while sharing secrets and intrigues of political and civil power.
