Tour Details
Available days: everyday at 10 am Among the beauties of the Amalfi Coast and still unharmed by mass tourism, Cetara is a small fishing village that is famous for the colatura of anchovies, used to season pasta and vegetables. Its Latin name, Cetaria, literally means "tonnara" and owes its origin to the Cetari, tuna hunters of Etruscan origin. Even today, at the first light of dawn, you can see the fishermen who take off from the small port to go out fishing. Your private guide will accompany you to discover the charming village and its historic center, and then take you on an authentic "tonnara", the boat used for fishing yellowfin tuna. Back in the historic center you will take a walk to discover the typical stores and then reach a historic local taverna housed in a cave overlooking the sea, where you can enjoy a tasting of products made with tuna and anchovies. What makes our Art of Tuna Fishing In Cetara experience so special: An exclusive visit of a Tonnara with a visit to a fisherman’s village and Cetara’s historical center, plus an exclusive tasting location.
